Anxiety Treatment

Anxiety is extreme worry that interfere with daily life.

Symptoms can include excessive worry about everyday things, irritability, restlessness, trouble concentrating, and sleep problems. Some can experience psychological symptoms such as racing heart, difficulty breathing, headaches or muscle tension, sweating or sweaty palms, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.

Causes of anxiety are unknown, but research has linked anxiety to family history and altered brain chemistry. Research also shows that traumatic events put people at a higher risk for developing anxiety.

Treatment is based on individual needs and preference and usually involves talk therapy, medication, or both.

Depression Treatment

Depression is a mental health condition affecting the mood.

Symptoms vary between people and can include feelings of sadness, guilt, hopelessness, lack of energy, loss of interest in favorable activities, appetite changes, sleep problems, irritability, and thoughts of death or dying.

Research links causes of depression to family history, altered brain chemistry, trauma, and physical illness.

Treatment is patient-entered and may include talk therapy, medication, or both, and lifestyle changes.

ADHD Assessment

Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder is a developmental disorder that begins in childhood and can last through adulthood, and is characterized by an ongoing pattern of inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity, or both.

Symptoms of inattention can include difficulty staying on track or focusing, disorganization, forgetfulness and losing items.

Symptoms of hyperactivity can include difficulty sitting still, restlessness or excessive talking.

Symptoms of impulsivity can include as trouble waiting turns, intruding on others, or interrupting others.

Causes of ADHD are not known, but research shows links to multiple variables such as family history, brain development, and environmental factors.

Treatment is based on symptom presentation and include behavior interventions, talk therapy, or medications, in some cases a combination of all three.

Bipolar Disorder Care

Bipolar disorder is a mental health condition involving shifts in mood, energy, activity, and concentration characterized by extreme elated, irritable, or energized behavior and very down periods beginning in late adolescence or early adulthood.

Symptoms of elated energy can present as increased activity, racing thoughts, decreased need for sleep, talking too fast about different things, risky behaviors, feeling able to do many things without getting tired, and feeling important.

Down symptoms can present as feeling sad, feeling slowed down, trouble concentrating, sleeping too much, talking slow, lack of interest in activities, unable to do simple things, feeling hopeless or thoughts of self-harm.

The exact cause of bipolar disorder is unknown but research shows links to family history and brain structure.

Treatment is based on individual symptoms and may include talk therapy, medication, or both.
